| FISKE RESIDENCE Shell Beach, California The Fiske residence is a home and gallery designed for a single art collector and located on a narrow lot with dramatic ocean views. Heavily restricted by coastal zoning controls, the building envelope was conceived as a vaulted spine intersected by various volumes related to plan functions. Spaces become increasingly private as the structure extends to the rear of the lot, where building forms are carved to respect specific view corridors. The contemporary materials palette of the Fiske residence includes rough sawn stone, chosen to reflect nearby bluffs. Client: Donald Fiske |
