| ATASCADERO MUTUAL WATER COMPANY HEADQUARTERS Atascadero, California AMWC is the largest water purveyor in northern Aldridge County. Their new consolidated headquarters project has involved a space needs survey, site selection assistance, master planning, and architectural services for the water company�s 13.7 acre site, site improvements, 9,500 square feet of new storage and maintenance structures, and a new 12,000 square foot administration office building. Existing buildings on the site are being upgraded for appearance and accessibility. The new facilities are designed in a contemporary interpretation of rural/ranch structures typical to the area. The administration building, which houses various community meeting and education spaces, employs metal roofing, exposed beams, and stone veneer to attain an inviting and dignified appearance. Sustainable features include high performance glazing systems, extensive daylighting, high recycled-content materials, a VAV type air conditioning system, and a solar shading design that uses grape vines for seasonal sun control.
